The Benefits of Serenity..

My car wouldn't start this morning on my way to a much needed hair appointment.  This has me thinking about how many times my Serenity has turned a bump in the road into another opportunity to learn, grow and be grateful.  Here goes my list for today.

*I have a car.  I have the money to fix the car.  I have so much to do at home that could use this weekend to attend to some long over due projects.
*I have food, water, dog food, hamster food, cat food and toilet paper stocked.
*I have phone, internet, iphone, laptop, directv and books.
*I have people I can call who will temporarily sympathize with me with my car problem.
*I have a husband who loves me as I am.  (BIGGEE)
*I have a beautician that understands when I cancel my appointment.
*I have a whole weekend to tend to myself and my responsibilities, a true luxury
*I have friends who will help me out in a pinch
* The rainy, cold day will mean less chance of a drought and prepare the ground for our garden.
*The ducks are happier in the rain.
*The biddies are growing quickly and are healthy.
*The dogs don't care if it is raining and I am not freaking out about mopping the floor with a mass of muddy paws prints.
*I have all that I need and most of what I want.  If I don't have it, I don't need it now.  I don't have to know why anymore.
*I may not know what to do in a crisis but I know what not to do.

Much love.

  1. After being depressed and grieving for such along time it felt good to just face every day crisis instead of just being a crisis. It felt strange to just say hey this is life and get on with it. Before just waking up and not knowing if I would be able to function was frightening. I am facing some serious obstacles in my life not but I know I will make it.

  2. Whenever I think that I have it bad, I do a gratitude list in my head. I have so much to be grateful for. Sorry about the snow.
